Royal Greenwich District

Royal Greenwich Scout District holds 26 Scout Groups throughout the London Borough of Greenwich, making up the Scout County of Greater London South with five other Districts.

The team from Royal Greenwich Scouts returned to us for a complete overhaul of their existing website in line with the Skills for Life branding after seeing our work with other Districts, Groups and Counties.

The aim of their website was to display their latest news and information whilst also increasing the online presence of the many Groups within their District, to boost recruitment of members and volunteers and improve communication.

Royal Greenwich Scouts had a number of issues that they wanted to resolve when they came to us, some of our solution-based features used in their site include:

• Bespoke homepage design – All of our sites are built using a template so that it’s easy for the user to edit but still fits in with the Scouts branding. The editability of our websites allowed Royal Greenwich to adapt their site to stand out from the crowd with a bespoke design.
• NAN (Nights Away Notification) form – Having essential forms like NAN forms that get submitted to the District are useful when stored in an easily accessible area and minimises the chance of important paperwork getting misplaced.
• Bespoke booking forms – As well as templates of any essential forms you might need, all of ours are completely customisable along with giving the District the ability to create their own individual campsite booking forms.
• Group Finder feature – One of the main aims of Royal Greenwich having a website was to allow prospective members and volunteers to find their nearest group. This is easier than ever with our Group Finder feature that searches for a user’s nearest Group using their postcode.

Royal Greenwich Scouts’ website is proof that the more effort you put into your Group, District, County or Campsite website, the more potential you can get back out of it. Simply by collating all of their information, news, events and photos, combined with our various features and functionality, the finished product is something the whole District can be proud of.
